The Mama Rae Story...

Mama Rae was my grandmother, on my mother's side.  Her name was Rae McKenzie Bryant, but we all knew her as Mama Rae.

She was born in 1903 in Mclean county, but my memories of her were from Prescott, Arizona.  I remember her oatmeal with raisins, playing in the desert, riding an old barrel that was tied to trees..we were busting broncos.  Mama Rae was called to be with the Lord in 1973, but I know she watches over me.  If anyone was to be an angel, it would be Mama Rae.

In 1944 Mama Rae had a little restaurant in Glendale California.  My mother, Wanda Rae, worked there  when she was in high school.  Now I am carrying on the tradition.

"Rae" is a family name shared by many, myself included.  I wanted to honor my grandmother and my mother by naming my restaurant after these two amazing women.
